Born in 1941 in Yamanaka-cho, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Became independent as a lacquerware maki-e artist in 1974.
Won the top prize at the Yamanaka-cho Lacquerware Maki-e Artists Exhibition in 1983.
[15th Urasenke Headmaster Hanso Soshitsu (Hounsai)]
Born as the eldest son of the 14th headmaster Tantansai Soshitsu, he studied at the Department of Economics at Doshisha University's Faculty of Law and the University of Hawaii, and in 1949 he studied Zen under the monk Zuigan of Daitoku-ji Temple, during which time he was also drafted. After that, in 1964, upon the death of his father, he took on the name of the 15th Urasenke headmaster Soshitsu.▼Product size
